Beginning Guitar Classes
This six week class is dedicated to the fundamentals of guitar and to get the student playing straight away. Students will be introduced to the basics for a successful, confident start and will be prepared to continue with more advanced techniques. Small, one-hour, weekly classes for a complete learning experience. Students provide their own instrument.
8 week class, $125
Beginning Violin Classes
For the new violinist, starting off right and with proper technique is of utmost importance. This fundamentals class is a great introduction to the essential basics. 6 week class, one hour per week.
Maximum 5 students. $125 Ongoing.
Beginning Voice Classes
Learn the essential technique for natural style singing, to get the most from your voice without causing stress or damage. Students will be prepared to pursue any genre or style of singing and ready for private study.
8 week class $125
Jazz Appreciation
This 6 week course is designed of Jazz. Students will be exposed to the instruments, forms, styles and personalities found in America's art music. The course will also cover historical styles from Dixieland to Swing and Beepop to Modern. However, the focus of the course will be more on the listening skills involved in developing and appreciation for this one-of-a-kind musical experience. The course will use live musical demonstration, cd's, and video performances to enhance the lectures. Six week lecture class $85, minimum of 3 students.
Jazz Seminar
This weekly group lesson is designed to teach the fundamentals of jazz to students interested in learning to play this dynamic musical art. Lessons will be constructed around small groups of students (approx. 2-5 students) and will focus on group interaction and the collective learning experience. Topics to be discussed and explored will include but not be limited to jazz theory, technique, and improvisation. Important jazz musicians and jazz history will, also, be discussed. Jazz is about self discovery and learning the skills of self expression and creativity, so, we invite anyone interested to sign up and begin the journey. All instruments including voice and skill levels are welcome. Some reading experience is preferred but not required. Classes will run for 45 minutes once a week and cost $11.25 per class ($33.75 for 3 classes, $45 for 4 classes, or $56.25 for 5 classes/classes of only 2 students will be will be treated as semi-private lessons and charged according to school policy). Classes will begin in January of 2012, so, sign up now!
Chamber Music
Music is a social activity and this group lesson is designed to provide students an opportunity to interact with other students there age and at their skill level. These lessons will provide small groups of students (approx. 2-5 students) a chance explore the musical heritage of the classical tradition (Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven) through arrangements tailor made for each ensemble. All instruments and ability levels are welcome. Classes will run for 45 minutes once a week and cost $11.25 per class ($33.75 for 3 classes, $45 for 4 classes, or $56.25 for 5 classes/classes of only 2 students will be will be treated as semi-private lessons and charged according to school policy). ROCK GROUP I and II
An ensemble focusing on all rock styles. Rock group one is for beginners, and Rock group two is for more advanced players. Students will learn about putting songs together, recording, and gear. Most groups will perform full shows. Class is $45 per semester (4 meetings). The meetings are scheduled for Sundays and are three hours.
